Mr. Black has been a high school teacher for twenty-four years. A 1975 summa cum laude graduate from Gettysburg College and member of Phi Beta Kappa, Mr. Black attended graduate school at the University of Chicago, earning his masters degree in history in 1977. Mr. Black continued his studies at the University of Chicago, completing course work and passing written and oral examinations for a doctorate in history. A member of the CCDS faculty for eighteen years, Mr. Black has served as department chair during the preceding twelve years. Mr. Blacks first love is European history. In addition, he has taught American history, Western Civilization, and a wide variety of senior electives. Mr. Black coaches track and cross country. Married and with two daughters, who attend the school, Mr. Black enjoys reading and running. |
