Algebra 2 Honors --  Mr. Tumolo

 CLASS EQUIPMENT – You need to bring the following to class each day

v     Pencil, Textbook, your TI Graphing Calculator,
     and your Laptop Computer (as needed)

v     Notebook  -- a loose leaf binder is the required type

CLASS PROCEDURES

v     Take responsibility for your work and your actions

v     Be thoughtful of your classmates

v     Respect all members of the class

v     Raise your hand to respond to questions

v     Have your equipment daily

You can’t borrow equipment for quizzes or
    tests (zero for that material)
 

HOW IS YOUR GRADE DETERMINED?

v     Tests – always announced, usually 3 or 4 days notice

v     Quizzes – there may be surprise quizzes, prepare your work daily

v     Homework: 30 points (-1 for each missed assignment, no late
    homework will be accepted)

v     Class work and Group Work --  20 points

v     Notebook – collected once a quarter; 20 points (-1 per day late)

1.      Homework and Class notes should be in dated order and
refer to the section of the text from which the material comes.

2.      Quizzes and Tests in dated order – can be kept separately

3.      Technology section

4.      Other handouts

v     HOMEWORK WILL BE COLLECTED EACH DAY  
        (leave it with me as you leave the room)

20% each quarter and 10% each exam

HOW TO STUDY FOR THIS COURSE

v     Stay Current

v     Read the textbook carefully and study the examples

v     Use 3 x 5 cards for key ideas and definitions

v     Do all of your homework – doing the homework is crucial for success
         in this course

v     Take good notes and study them nightly

v     Redo homework problems to study for quizzes and tests

 

EXTRA HELP SESSIONS

v     My free periods are: A, G and H

v     Your free periods are:

v     Before and after school – let me know you are coming

v     Come for help frequently

 

IF YOU ARE ABSENT, YOU MUST

v     Makeup all missed announced quizzes and tests within a reasonable
    time period (less than a week)

v     Get your assignments from a friend or the website

Class Work

19-20     Excellent Participation and makes comments that moved the
        class forward.  Asks and answers questions

16-17     Good Participation and ask thoughtful questions, but
        seldom answers questions

14           Little Participation and a few questions were asked

9-10;      No Participation but on task during class

< 9;        No Participation and not on task during class
