Life Science

Welcome to the study of living things.  Life Science in the 7th grade is an introductory biology course.  We begin the year studying the nature of science and then explore the three unifying theories of biology:
cell theory, genetics and DNA, and the theory of evolution.

Marine Biology
Research Camp

Marine Biology Research Camp teaches 12-17 year-old students (and their parents) about marine life through in-water experiences and classroom presentations.  Students SCUBA dive twice a day and interact with dolphins during their eight day adventure.

Discover Nature!

Let's explore outdoors!  This course that guides students in the discovery of the natural history of living things on the CCDS campus.  We learn to identify trees and wildflowers, write a phenology journal for the Ginkgo balboa tree in the Pattison courtyard, cultivate mushrooms, and more.  The highlight of the experience is an overnight trip to Highlands Nature Sanctuary.
